What is a good additive to use?

I've been using the Power Service additive to increase cetane levels.
I heard that with the more refined fuels and lower sulfur, the fuel's lubricating properties are decreased.

Is this true?

What is a better alternative for increased lubrication?

Thanks.

Re: What is a good additive to use?

The process of reducing the sulfur, not the actual loss of the sulfur causes the drop in lubricity. The best way to restore it is BIODIESEL. B2 is enough to replace the lost lubricity. B20 is commonly available at the pump.

Re: What is a good additive to use?

I second what Norm said. 1% addition of biodiesel to ULSD will improve lubricity by 65%.

Re: What is a good additive to use?

Thanks guys.

Bio has not reached the town where I live and the Love's truck stop close to me (15 miles)does not have it either.
I can make some calls and bring a couple of 6 gallon cans with me if I find it. That way it's on hand.

Re: What is a good additive to use?

I, personally, would find it to be a royal PITA, but if all you want is additive for lubricity you can make small quantities in the kitchen.
