what kind of Ball valves

I'm looking for ball valves to weld to my sucker tank. Would black pipe valves work? What other plumbing parts should I use?

Any soft valve seat is likely to be destroyed by the heat of welding.

Why do you have to weld them? If you have to just weld black iron pipe with threads so you can screw on your valves?

Just out of curiosity, would PVC valves hold up? I just priced 2 inch brass valves - Holy Cow!!!

It would be best to weld a nipple to the tank and then attach the ball valve of your choice.

Fastcote the PVC valves will work but will not be as durable, possible mess to deal with one of these days if your unlucky.
