What is the Optimum Operating Temperature of vegi

So thinking about going vegi and wanted to find some more info about it. What is the optimum operating temp that the vegi has to be in order to run the vegi.

thank you

Re: What is the Optimum Operating Temperature of vegi

180 gives me the most power, though some seem to think 140 is enough and I usually switch over to WVO at around 120 but I will change my oil more often if I do a lot of short trip/cold wvo driving.

Re: What is the Optimum Operating Temperature of vegi

DanaLinscott did some research indicating many IDI's have enough heat loss once the WVO hits the IP to make anything over 140 overkill (temp varies by model). Not positive yet what happens in a PSD, as there is alot of heat in the heads, but the intake is near the fuel rail and may lower temps. Putting a sending unit in my fuel rail away from the fuel inlet is on my list. BTW 180*F is the temp WVO is at about the same viscosity as #2 is at 32*F

180 is easy to hit with good coolant to fuel heat exhangers (hose in hose works great)
