What year Benz?

Might not be the right place to ask this...so if not, sorry.

What years did Benz use IDI diesels in their cars?

I found a pretty good looking 98 300 that I might be interested in, but not sure if it's IDI or not.

Re: What year Benz?

Im not sure about your 98 model but I do know that the 83-85 cars were the best to run on SVO........

Re: What year Benz?

Actually, al M-B diesels were IDI's until the introduction this year of the CDi diesel.

Personally, I would stick to an '85 or older diesel, though, as M-B's newer diesels have a tendency to warp cylinder heads if they are overheated at all...

Besides, I've heard that the W210 is not an economical car to operate

Re: What year Benz?

This 98 had under 100K on it, and claims 35mpg...looked clean, too.

Dunno. I'm pulling my hair out with trying to keep up with the "fleet" now Not sure I need another project just yet till I get caught up on other stuff.

Sure is tempting though
