Will B20 hurt anything

I have a 05' and I am thinking of running biodiesel in it. Will B20 hurt any hoses or any other parts in the truck that it comes into contact with?

Re: Will B20 hurt anything

If by chance you have a problem nd have to take it to the dealer and they find B20 in there, they might call the fuel the problem. As far as any problems, as long as it is quality Bio, all should be good. Check it before you buy it. Make sure it is nice and clear and not cloudy or has floating particles in it.

Re: Will B20 hurt anything

It MAY void your warrenty . Ford's recommendations are a maximum of B-5.

Re: Will B20 hurt anything

Late model vehicles (like yours) have more robust fuel components and should safely handle B20. I've run some pretty high concentrations of BioDiesel in my '03 (around B70)with no apparent ill effects. Others on this forum regularly run B-100 with no problems.

As noted above, Ford (and International) recommends a maximum of B5. That does not mean that running B20 will void your warranty. If you have an engine problem attributable to the fuel. The warranty will not cover it. Guess what happens if you are running pure dino and you have a warranty issue attributable to the fuel? Yep, same thing. The manufacturer is responsible for material and workmanship of the vehicle. Since they do not make the fuel, that's between you and the fuel supplier.

Buy good quality bioDiesel and you should be just fine.
