Re: WMO Filter

So far, everything seems fine. I have about 180 miles on this tank/blend.

It seems to run about like B100 (really quiet, maybe even quieter?). Power seems about like B100 also (make a tad better power, but not like straight #2. I have not seen any smoke, and cannot detect any strange smell.

I know my tank was REALLY full, but it may be possible I am getting pretty good mileage. My gauge is not much off full at 180 miles.

Re: WMO Filter

Update: I figure I am running 60% bio, 10% WMO and 30% petro. I have 570 miles on the tank. I am "guesstimating (by my gauge/past experience) that it would take ~32 gallons to fill right now)(I still have a ways to go before I will need fuel, but not much). I think the only time I have gotten ~ this same mileage was last April going 66-67mph across CO/NE/IA on interstate on #2. This tank is 100% around town driving and not that light footed either. I think the addition of the WMO did indeep help my economy. I am going to keep trying this. Next time, I am going to process the WMO with my bio batches (reacting/washing/drying), and I may go with a higher percentage (15%???)

(I typically get 1-1.5 mpg less running B100 than with pump diesel)

One problem: Although I have very little bio in stock ( a couple/3 gallons maybe), I am NOT going to fill up at the pump. This will make it tough to give an actual mpg figure for this tank. I will probably have to add 10 gallons to get me by until I can have a batch ready. (And I need to go buy another barrel of alcohol and some KOH (from braintan unfortunatley). I almost have my new processor ready to try out. Should be brewing/washing/drying this weekend.

Re: WMO Filter

i run 100% wmo--but only to about 50 degrees--gets tooo stiff for the stock pump to pull--and on shut down--and start up---i start on straight diesel--you can only get it to start on straight oil by using by ether--been there--2 miles of driving before shutdown on diesel cleans the lines of wmo---
