WVO a few questions...

Hey guys, I've got a few questions regarding WVO and the Stock fuel system in my 7.3l...

What is the fuel pressure that the Fuel pump located under the driver ( on the chassis)Puts out?

Is there 2 pumps or am i confused? (the one stated above, and an High pressure one)?

Are the fuel tube lines after the pump standard tube sizes? 3/8"OD? and will standard fittings (swagelok) work with them?

Ive read that quite a few people were having trouble with the stock electric fuel pump not being able to handle the heat and viscosity of the oil. I am trying to figure out how to run my fuel system. I plan on doing a 2 tank system. I am wondering if i should use a pump right after the wvo tank and plum the wvo in behind the stock pump.
Or After the stock pump. It all depends on what the truck needs for PSI and GPH or GPM...

Im trying to do the setup for 300$+/- I already have a filter, A wvo tank, all the tube and hoses ill need. a homemade glowplug heater with a temp switch. and a in tank heat exchanger.

If you guys have any Ideas that would help Alot!
Thanks guys - Ian

Re: WVO a few questions...

OK, as for fuel pump - stock pump is regulated to 54-58 psi, and will produce over 100psi for atleast a short period of time.

I've been abusing a factory replacement pump from O-Rielly's w/VO for over 30,000 miles. My pump is kinda mid-system, so it gets warm to HOT VO all the time. I have starved it (plugged filter), pumped cold sludge thru it, and run it for 10 hours straight at 70 psi prolly 150 deg oil at the pump.

It cost $159 and has a warranty. At the time, the other options were almost $300 and had no warranty.

There is only 1 fuel pump. There is a high pres. oil pump that supplies power to the injectors...

The stock fuel lines are all standard stuff. I spliced into stock lines to heads using compression couplings.

I think $300 is low (about 1/3 low) but maybe you'll pull it off by having more stuff laying around than me! (I got alot of STUFF laying around)
