WVO suckers!

SO Im building one similar to the one that uses a fridge pump. I'll be useing a fridge pump also. I have a few questions. I have the option of useing 1" hose and 2" hose and am leaning twards 2" due to volume (80 gallon tank and hopefully adiquiate suppliers) but mostly speed. What kind of hose will stand up to 30 in of vac and still be flexible? What are you guys useing? Also, i was wondering if you guys are holding max vac during the entire pumping (please note what size hose/tank/pump your useing) and if not what are you averaging by the time the collection is done (please note gallons collected). Lastly please mention your average collection times. I'm most interested in speed.

I know Im kinda being picky, but i haven't been able to nail anyone down on this yet.

Thanks!

Re: WVO suckers!

I use a 40 gallon tank and pull a vac of about 22 using an old beat up compressor. I also use a 1" clear plastic pipe from home depot (about 15') Takes about 15 min fill up the tank & I usually end up with about 32 gal. I do not pull additional vacumme during the process. I think it may take you a long time to get down to 30 with a refig compressor with an 80 gallon tank. I don't know if you would need to have the vac running to pull that much oil on board or not. Let us know.....

Re: WVO suckers!

thanks for the reply. I know im not going to be able to hold 30 once the valves open, and Im guessing 30 is going to be a lofty number, but hey, gotta shoot for somethin. 15 min for filling is better than the 20 I was hearing. Do you think keeping a vacume on it would cut 5 min off? I was going to run a gen while collecting anyway.
