WVO tank in bed with stacks????

If I was to mount a tank for WVO up against my exhaust in the bed would I still need to run coolant coils in the tank??? I figure if you were to use a narrow tank it would transfer the heat pretty good since there would be alot of surface area exposed to the heat. Im thinking it would help heat it but would probably be more of a suppliment to coolant coils. Any ideas????

Re: WVO tank in bed with stacks????

That's one heck of an exhaust! From reading posts on this forum about using exhaust heat I would say it would work. First you would want to take some measurments of how hot the cross tube gets. IMHO - <300 dergress or so I would say mount the tank right above. >300 degrees you would want some space between the two.

Re: WVO tank in bed with stacks????

Thats exactly what I was thinking I know the elbows out by my stacks get hot enough to melt an igloo cooler but I also have a tool box in the bed so I was thinking of making the fuel tank so it would mount right above the cross pipe and between the stacks and fit between the bed and toolbox then use a piece of sheet metal and block off the rest of the bed under the toolbox so all the heat would have to go up around the fuel tank but this alone would not be enough if it gets cold cause if you're not running it hard say in town driving or if roads slippery or idleling the exhaust is cool enough to touch
