They all have the block heater. Some trucks did not come with the cord, some did (depended on where the truck was purchased - ie geographical location).

All 03s have the heater and cord. Around 2005 they decided to leave off the cord to save a buck, so MY 2005 and newer will not have the cord unless you are in a "cold region"...

Thank You

I crawled around under there with a flashlight and found it.

Now for the next dumb question

Is the oil filter on top of the motor?

And if it is, what is that smaller cannister beside it
that looks similar?

Ain't I a dumba**

Gary

So I guess that is the oil filter on top? Thats a good thing, Right?

This truck has 60K miles on it, do I need to find the "primary" filter?

Or just ignore it and wait for the consequences. <smile>

Its under the drivers frame rail , called the HFCM primary fuel filter.
Also , it contains the fuel/water drain out, requiring a 6mm new allen wrench , i think the HFCM takes a large 26mm ? socket.

Do you think this is something that needs doing soon?

The truck runs good now.

The oil filter is in the engine compartment - under the hood.

Change oil and filter - 5k to 7.5k miles
Change BOTH fuel filters at 10k-15k (DO NOT GO OVER THIS INTERVAL).

Injectors are very sensitive to low fuel pressure!

Thanks for the help.

I'll start with changing the fluids and filters as you folks recommended.

It will give me a base line. Maybe I can get this truck to go to 100K.
