Not usually...just turn the key on and wait until the pump stops humming and then crank it over. It should start like usual.

Yes if you are changing the filters once done you have to purge the air from the fuel system. You do this by turning on the key and counting to 30 then turn it off and then back on. Do this 6 or so times. This will allow the fuel pump to push the air though the system and back to the tank. Drive it for 10min or so after to make sure all of the air is worked out.

To change the oil, get the engine nice and warm. Turn off the engine and unscrew the large cap on top of the engine and let the filter drain (filter can be gotten from walmart they have both the motorcraft and fram - same exact filter). Using a 15qt oil pan let the engine oil drain. Give it at least 20 min to drain. When draining grease the truck. Once all is drained out change the oil filter. It snaps into the black cap so it can be hard to remove. Snap the new one back into the cap, change the o-ring on the cap, oil the o-ring and put the filter/cap back and tighten down but only until the rim on the cap touches the alumn housing. Tighten it too much and it will crack. Put 14-15 qts of rotella or delo back in using the oil fill (passenger side of the engine). Start and let idle for a few minutes.

Fuel filters are a little more complicated so you will have to search to find the directions.

good luck
