I've got an 03 6.0, auto trans f-250 with edge juice/attitude and the other week I started to notice an scrubbing/ scrapping sound coming from the floor board area when I got on it, and I could fill it in floor. This sound seems to get worse and it does it when it shifts from 2nd to 3rd gear. I asked my uncle (used to be an ford tech and is a big ford guru) about it and he said it sounds like the torqe converter. The truck only has 37,000 miles and is babied 99% of the time, I know edge is famed for trans problems, but could this be from the edge system or bad luck? I called edge and talked to an tech their and he said I needed to up grade the trans and also go with the edge evolution to set points in the trans. My question is build this trans bullet proof (new torqe converter, internals, shift kit ect.) or try to get ford to cover this since I have extended warrenty. If rebuild what brand of goodies should I go with (Ats, Sun coast, ect.)? Thanks for any help.

I would start by taking the Edge off, "stockifying" it as much as possible and bringing it to Ford for an assessment. They may deny a drivetrain issue due to your lift and 38's, but maybe not. It's worth a shot.
If they will fix it under warranty, let them. But tell us what the diagnosis is. We may be able to suggest an upgrade or two that will make it more dependable.
I would think it is something in the trans before the TC, but I could be wrong. The other possibility is that somehow the driveshaft angle over time has caused some damage (due to your lift). Obviously, depending on what it is, what we recommend will vary.
If it is a trans or TC issue, there are many options from SunCoast, ATS and John Woods (just to name a few) that you can choose from. They have kits you can rebuild with yourself, or you can swap your entire trans and TC for a rebuilt one from them. The prices for these types of options vary from around $1000 to $5000 depending on what you do.

Ralphinnj thanks for the in put. I'll try the dealer first and see how that goes. They love to blam lift and tires on everything even if your window motor is broke it's becuase of the lift! If I was going to do some trans up grades what should I go with and who? and do you think the edge evolution would help? Thanks again.
