04 6.0 No Power

Hey Guys, New To The Site, But After Reading Looks Like Most Of You Know What The Hell You Are Talking About! I Need Some Help! I Have An 04 F250 With The Early Prod. 6.0, It Starts And Runs Fine But When You Hammer On It From A Dead Stop It Slowly Creeps Up To 3000 Rpm, And When It Gets There It Takes Off Like It Should! I Can Hear The Turbo The Whole Time, So I Know That Is Atleast Working.... Any Help??????

3k is a little high, but it sounds like it's doing what the engineers want. In ordr to meet EPA regs, we go t a bit of "dead pedal". The throttle is programed to not add fuel until the turbo spools enough to supply enough air so that black smoke is NOT produced. Usually you should see some take-off at about 2k.

Try rolling into the pedal, or if you MUST have quick response to get thru a busy intersection, power brake it a bit. Stand on the brake & build boost then let off it to shoot thru.

thats true what OMC said...my truck has a dead pedal also til about 2500 then it scoots. if you build boost at a stop light your truck will haul some butt and it feels like a totally diffrent truck.
