04 excursion will not respond to throttle input imtermittently - Diesel Forum

HI guys I have an 04 excursion with 124,000 miles and it has started to intermittently not respond to the gas pedal and sometimes it just won't start.

Other problems that have come up is a p0401 code that seems to go and come when it wants to

the other is this rushing of air sound when I accelerate. I have two other 6.0 for work trucks and they don't make that sound.

I just picked this vehicle up about two months ago and I don't know the history.

Please excuse me if some or all of the topics have been covered

I would start by cleaning the EGR Valve.

I have replaced the EGR valve with a factory ford valve. I have cleaned the tube to exhaust backpressure sensor but my understanding is that it is obselete if the computer has been updated
