How long is "long"? My 03 fires in about 3 to 4 secs. I had the OEM batteries on it until last month, and they were still cranking it strong (I figured 6yrs was pushing it though).

the batteries are in good shape i had them tested when i replaced my alt. it will crank for 7 -10 sec before it starts but only once the motor has been ran for a bit. i have 120k on the motor i just did the egr mod to it after it started leaking the motor runs great other than the long cranking

Is your oil level below the full mark on the stick? An overfull oil level will cause increased cranking time to build HP pump oil pressure when warm in my experiance. Its also been my experiance that not all of these dip sticks are created equal.
