05 6.0 fires then dies

Hi, my 05 power stroke fires then dies immediately. I checked codes before I returned the program to stock. Before it erased the codes I had P0264,P0267,P0273,P0611, and P2612. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Your first three codes are cylinder contribution codes... They may or may not be germaine to your current problem... P0611 is a FICM performance code. Most likely, a new FICM is in your future.... The FICM is covered under the 5/100 diesel engine warranty.

Whether you have warranty left or not, some testing will be required to ensure that the start then stall isn't caused by some other concern... a rebuilt, exchange FICM is about $900 ish CAD putting it out of the realm of something to "try".

FWIW, P2612 is undocumented for the 06 model year.

if your warranty is over you can get a reman FICM off ebay (~$500). There is a company down in Davie florida that does nothing but auto computers. You have to send your old FICM to them to program the new one and then they keep the old one as a core.
