05 Oil Leak - Dealer's Opinion

Afternoon. I have a 05 Ford 350, 25,000 miles, with the 6.0 and have a dripping leak at the bellhousing. The truck has been in several times for this to have valve gaskets replaced and the head gaskets. The dealer just called and said that the "CAC" hose was seeping, running from the turbo I believe. Anyway, he claims this is normal and routine, they tightened the clamp.

I am somewhat dubious about this analysis, since it never leaked for the first 25,000 miles and have a lingering suspicion that they have decided they have spent enough money on warranty work to fix the leak.

Any opinions as to the normalcy of this leak would be appreciated. Thanks

We as owners have to kept dust out, change oil filters, fuel filters, drain water, and etc. for warranty work. Ford has to up kept also with there warranty package to 100k.

There is nothing in the book that say's a leaking 6.0L is normal. From assm. lube, to bell housing leak or drip. Any thing on this engine from o rings, CVC boots or anything oil related parts shouldn't leak.

If your truck is leaking? there is some part which is not right.

I was lucky they forget to assm lube my engine. I have a none leaking 6.0L truck from a drive off order. 27k so far. If it starts it will be in my dealer, because it didn't come from factory leaking.

fact of the matter is that this is "normal"...its the way the
EPA outlaw'd crank case venting...

tighten the clamps around the intercooler tubes and the leak
will be reduced...but the reality is that the oil will now
be contained in the intercooler.

The hot side turbocharger CAC hose does leak, thats why there's an updated part and procedure for installing the new hose and clamp. The oil seeps from the hose, drips down the valley to the rear of the engine, and down around the rear engine cover making it appear the bedplate, rear cover, or rear crankshaft seal is leaking.
