Cool 06 6.0 Which Coolant do I use?

Hey just picked up an 06 f350 diesel lariat crew cab 8ft. Noticed my coolant was a little low. I looked in the manual and of course its gonna says use fords Gold colant you know their 25 - 30 dollars a gallon. just wanted to know if i could possibly pick up another brand u know maybe a 50/50 blend from like autozone or advanced auto. In the manual it says I have to stick with yellow and they said dont use an extended life coolant. ,But I look in local stores and their all extended life 150,000 mile etc. or should I just go with fords over priced coolant.... any suggestions>

I just purchased a gallon of Ford gold at my dealer for $11.36.
Last gal I bought was $16.98.

The 6.0 degas bottle "cold " should not read above the minimum level. If you fill to maximum you may blow it out when the coolant expands.

Yup!

For whatever reason, minimun or just below is where the coolant should be. Any higher and it can boil over and make a mess and scare the cr@p out of ya thinkin' its head gaskets!!!!!
Also, you go 100k+ out of the coolant anyway...unless it looks or checks bad, you really don't need to change it....
