06 Turbo problems - Diesel Forum

Just took my 06 PSD with 6700 miles on it in to the dealer for the check engine lite and they tell me it is intermitten turbo failure... I was wondering if anyone out there with an 06 has had this problem... Really kinda worried that if this is how the monster is going to run I might think of a new truck... I dont want the problems that some of the 03-04's had... Just curious thats all.

I have the same year and had to get a turbo replaced at 12,000 mi. The truck showed no outward signs, it ran fine except to the check engine light. They did a boost test and it failed. I guess this is a pretty common occurrance.

A hard 25k on my 06 since new, heading to the dealer for an intermittant "check tbc" light next week.. Other than that, no issues....

had to get my 06 changed at about 12,000 miles no intermitent problems
just check eng light

I hear the replacement turbo is upgraded. Anyone else hear that?

Just had it replaced on my 05 with 19k miles . No problem but the light would come on every time I would hook a trailer to it. They ran the test and said it was low boost. Its hard to understand because this thing would pull alot better than my 01 did. Mileage has improved some since the new turbo so maybe it wasn't just me.
