06 white puff of smoke at take off?

Hi everyone, I have a 06 ps. I live in the northwest, last winter I took off my cat converter and put a bigger exhaust. Every since then I been getting a puff of white smoke at took off. I didn't notice it because of the cold weather and thought it was outside temp. But now it's hot out the smoke is still there and it's embarrassing. Is this because I took the cat off? Or is there something else wrong with the truck maybe? It runs fine.
I have a chip and it smokes in stock mode as well.

I am not 100% sure, but I have read that white smoke indicats air in the lines. I had assumed it was gas, but maybe there is a leak in the exhaust somewhere?

This weekend I was up at 10,000 feet and got white smoke on start, which I assumed was due to altitude/air pressure.

Hope this helps, sorry if it doesn't.

More than likely it is your EGR. reach behind your intake elbow and unplug the wires to the EGR valve and drive it like this for a few days to see if this clears up the smoke. It may take that long. ps... you probably will get an engine code. This will help you to see if it is the egr or some other problem.

i have been told that white smoke is oil burning.to much fuel is black. now is it a big puff of white smoke or a haze of smoke that could actually be black but since it is a haze it looks gray maybe even white. but if its white it isnt the egr.

White smoke is either coolant or raw diesel flooding like a leaking injector. Light blue smoke is oil.
