I don't recall seeing anything on a "new and improved" FICM.... I understand that we are supposed to be seeing a replacement power board that we can install in the field... but our store is still selling modules?!?!?!
I'm trying to keep up but, lately, I'm getting pushed into some of the new transmissions.
Update, Truck wouldn't start at all. had it towed to dealer, they checked it and replaced FICM. Truck running fine now. $100 Deductable. Will check ESP contract, think "No Deductable" applies on "Diesel Engine Care" ESP?

About this time last year I was having to plug my truck in to get it running in the morning. If it was real cold it would take twenty minutes to warm up enough to get out and run the Watermelon 500.
I took the truck in for diagnostics at the local diesel hot rod guy. He told me I had three or four bad injectors and that I may as well replace all eight. BTW this is a 03 1/4 with a 6.0l running Edge Attitude since 50,000, truck had 150,000 when I had it diagnosed.
I found the cheapest Ford labor in Griffin, GA., $600 to replace all eight. I jumped on that and bought my injectors from Pensacola Injection at $140 instead of the $280 Ford wanted. I had all eight replaced in March. She started acting up again. I took it to Ford, they said I had one bad injector, one more going bad soon and the others showing bad signs. I'm back to punt, waiting on the snap, I think I'll go Chevy this time since I know several Techs and the owner.

Bumping an old thread, but GrampyJim, did you ever see these replacement powerboards? This seems like a good solution since you wouldn't have to replace the while ficm nor would you have to worry about firmware.
2004 F350 All 8 Injectors Circuit low - no other symptoms
Out of the blue two days ago my check eng light came on, Since I big time nerd I have all the gadget including code reader. Sure enough all 8 injectors have low voltage
NO miss fires, no problems starting, Run fine.
Have not done anything to truck since my 90k mile service about 2 months ago when I changed all the fluids and filters except the Diff and Transfer case
fist question is what harm might I cause if I continue to drive to work form few more days (weekend) when I can test batteries etc. I do have extended warranty but not sure if it covers the FICM (injectors are covered)

Any suggestions as to what I need to check
Thanks
Your FICM is going out. If you continue to drive it, you are likely to get stranded when the FICM finally gives up.

Thanks, hopefully my extended warranty covers the FICM - But first I am going to test my batteries, with the key on waiting for the glow plugs to heat the voltage is 11.0, that's before I started the truck
Update - So I owned the 2004 F350 Super Duty for 4 months now and I had one battery all this time. I bought a battery tester ($29) and sure enough one bad battery. Pulled both out replaced with two yellow top batteries I already had. And then found out that one of my two yellow tops was bad (it was 5+ years old). Replaced it and now I have no battery issues.
Today I tested the FIMC, key on engine off 48v, starting 48v engine running 24v.. I disconnected the batteries for few minutes to reset the code -- time will tell if I get back the low voltage error codes again
