2001 F250 6.0

My 6.o Has 50,000 Miles On It. The Wife Is Driving It Up To Austin. It Is Surging And Sputtering(her Words) Between 65 And 70. Seems To Run Smooth At Higher Speeds. Any Ideas.

Just a question... is the truck a 2001 or a 6.0, because the 6L arrived in 2003.Just asking to make sure you're in the right forum.BTW Welcome to TDS.

What year model is it (2001 can not be correct)?

Have you changed the fuel filters recently? If so, how many miles ago?

Fuel filters and oil and oil filter would be my 1st choice. Make sure to use OEM Motorcraft or racor filters. Do not use AM except for Fram CH9549. It is also made by Racor. Once you have this problem ironed out I would service the rest of the truck so that you have a basis to work from. The 6.0 can be a good engine but it is very finicky when it comes to proper maintenance.

Start w/ changing the fuel filters. They MUST be changed at 15k intervals and SHOULD be changed at 10k intervals. Fuel pressures below 45 psig can permanently damage injectors.

This is very important, I know a company in my town that has a fleet of 6.0s and started w/ the aftermarket filters and had nothing but problems.
