2005 F-250 6.0

I bought a 2005 F250 Powerstroke this past weekend the truck has 118,000 miles on it. Everything seemed fine untill two days after i bought it. It seemed to stuter a bit while driving. then i noticed it again on my way home from work yesterday. Well on my way to work today it lost a lot of power and blew a bunch of black smoke, but never died i got to the shoulder and then it started running fine again. It was low on fuel when i test drove it so they filled it up at the dealer ship. Im wondering if i got a tank of bad fuel or if i have a bigger problem? The fuel that they put in there is almost gone any suggestions?

Chance is are that you are having the same problems as I am. EGR Valve needes to be cleaned or replaced would be my guess. Hopefully you wont have half the problems that I am. good luck

my truck hessitated all the time and i saw either on this site or another site for the 6.0 that you can un plug the egr valve and cause it to quit working and gaid some throttle response. i have had it unplugged and it seems to improve throttle response for me. although not your problem you might try to unplug the electrical connector and see if that helps for the problem it will probably throw a code but possibly help eliminate other problems

Or go get yourself a nice 7.3. I use to own a 6.0 but I think I spent to much time on this site reading about all the problems.

And I too read the 6.0 was trouble waiting to happen, so I have been looking more at the 7.3. Interesting how much you learn from the search feature.
