2005 F350

My truck is at the dealer for repair.I was blowing alot of water out the exhaust. Its my egr cooler. They are also telling me that the head gaskets should be done as well.

I understand that headgaskets have been a issue but they have no real reason to say that they are gone other than its a common issue. I was not suffering from any real power loss.

At this point the cab is still on the truck oil/egr coolers pulled. My truck has 240kms on it. Should I do the head gaskets? Its quite a bit more money obviously.

What do you guys think?

Trevor

If you do it now you could save 7 to 8 hours of labor in the future. Because removing the cooler is part of the labor during a head gasket job. But on the other hand if you do it now you will dish out another 13 hours labor. @ 80 per hour. I guess if you have the money you can do it but it could be something you don't need. I would never recommend that unless I was sure it needed it.
