Re: 2006 ford

I suspect if Ford is indeed moving up '06 production schedule, it may be due to the change over to a whole new truck for '07. Maybe want to bring the '07s out early before the GM brings out their new trucks. Only by what I have read on the internet, but I have heard there are very few changes from '05 to '06, big stuff coming in '07.

I tested an '05 F-350 dually cab and chassis today. Lotta power. Dealer said all '05 orders are history.

2007s are supposed to hit the streets in March of 2006. Hence 2006s coming out early.

Re: 2006 ford

I remember all the hype over the 2003.25 6.0 PSD. I got one; and based on my experience, I'll sit out the first year and wait for the 08.

Re: 2006 ford

Ditto smurf764. Hit the nail on the head. I'll pass on the first model year for a new engine as well (If they do go with the rumored 6.4L twin turbo engine). Been there, done that.

Re: 2006 ford

I ordered a 05 Feb 25th, Ordered was delayed due to lack of 18" wheels. Ford stopped the production on 05 and geared up the 06 line. I was told mid June for delivery , POSSIBLY.

Too extensive to list.

Days in shop so far 71 and counting as they still have it.

34K miles.

After spending a month in the shop and having it back only 2 weeks, it's back in the shop. Ford Customer service refused to send me a DSB Package. Told me the info is in the back of manual. Well truck is in shop and I don't have the info can you give it to me? No, it's in the manual.

Re: 2006 ford

Crepper
I feel your pain,I had a Money back transaction w/ Ford for my 6.0 and bought a new 7.3 an 03.

Problem for me @ 30k I rolled it (I drive Like Grandpaw) and I would rather put 10 grand into it or more just to keep my 7.3!
After experiancing Fords 6.0 I decided rather than total my 7.3 and by new 6.0 and gamble, I'd suck it up and repair it, at least I know what I have and what I'd get.
Good luck I hope you get a runner like some of the people here!

Re: 2006 ford

Scuttlebutt is that the '07's will not be alot of changes, but will in fact be a totally new truck.

We expect that the way-cool 6.4L twin turboed powerstoke will be introduced at that time.

What'll you guess ??/
400hp / 650ft lbs torque ???

meyhaps....

Re: 2006 ford

I hear that. I would rather have a truck with 450 ft/lbs of torque that runs everyday than a truck with 650 that spends half its life in the shop.

Ford's looking for a new batch of suckers, er...I mean, beta testers for the 07 model trucks. Any takers?

Re: 2006 ford

John, you say that now!

Sounds like something I used to say when I was much younger when I wanted something really bad...
Example: Sure mom and dad if you get me a puppy I'll walk him, feed him, brush him, and clean up his poop everyday!!!

Maybe if you live within walking distance to your dealer and you own 2 trucks.
