ordered 2005 in feb around the 15. picked up the truck 4/21 the day it came in. today the dealer told me all 05 orders are over now and he can order an 06 starting today. first he told me mid july would be the time to order an 06. made a bad decision or bad timing. wonder why ford is changing so earley?
I suspect if Ford is indeed moving up '06 production schedule, it may be due to the change over to a whole new truck for '07. Maybe want to bring the '07s out early before the GM brings out their new trucks. Only by what I have read on the internet, but I have heard there are very few changes from '05 to '06, big stuff coming in '07.

2007s are supposed to hit the streets in March of 2006. Hence 2006s coming out early.
[/ QUOTE ]So there going to be out around March 06? I thought it was supposed to be late in the year. This is good info .

Ditto smurf764. Hit the nail on the head. I'll pass on the first model year for a new engine as well (If they do go with the rumored 6.4L twin turbo engine). Been there, done that.

2003 6.0 Bought back
2006 6.0 Replacement truck Problem list.
Too extensive to list.
Days in shop so far 71 and counting as they still have it.
34K miles.
After spending a month in the shop and having it back only 2 weeks, it's back in the shop. Ford Customer service refused to send me a DSB Package. Told me the info is in the back of manual. Well truck is in shop and I don't have the info can you give it to me? No, it's in the manual.
Crepper
I feel your pain,I had a Money back transaction w/ Ford for my 6.0 and bought a new 7.3 an 03.
Problem for me @ 30k I rolled it (I drive Like Grandpaw) and I would rather put 10 grand into it or more just to keep my 7.3!
After experiancing Fords 6.0 I decided rather than total my 7.3 and by new 6.0 and gamble, I'd suck it up and repair it, at least I know what I have and what I'd get.
Good luck I hope you get a runner like some of the people here!
James

I hear that. I would rather have a truck with 450 ft/lbs of torque that runs everyday than a truck with 650 that spends half its life in the shop.
[/ QUOTE ]I wouldn't, I would rather have it with 650 even if was in the shop all the time, just to have the most.

Sounds like something I used to say when I was much younger when I wanted something really bad...
Example: Sure mom and dad if you get me a puppy I'll walk him, feed him, brush him, and clean up his poop everyday!!!
Maybe if you live within walking distance to your dealer and you own 2 trucks.
