While I was looking at 05's the other day, the salesman told me that the 2007 6.4 Twin Turbo already has a lot of problems in development.

I ordered a 05 Feb 25th, Ordered was delayed due to lack of 18" wheels. Ford stopped the production on 05 and geared up the 06 line. I was told mid June for delivery , POSSIBLY.

[/ QUOTE ]

Sounds like my story. I ordered an 05 PSD with 18" wheels on 2/6 and still haven't heard any news of its pending arrival. Told the dealer to forget it at this point as I'll wait a few more months for the '07 (I'll take the risk of the first model year).

Re: 2006 ford

The salesman wouldn't know that they have development problems with the new engine. He would know that you are at the dealer that day and selling you a truck THAT day any way he could would put a commission in his pocket!!!!!!!

IT would be a rare day that a manufacturer would development a new engine and not have problems during the testing and evaluation trials. Software to be tweeked, exhaust changes to adress noises, etc.

Re: 2006 ford

New engine yes.........but I wonder what other amenities that my '03 has will be cut form the '07s. I pulled into the dealership a few weeks after the '05s came out, and the salesman asked me if I was rady to upgrade. I laughed and looked inside one, and asked him "What upgrades?" Where he had reflectors, I had lights. I had an engine blanket, he didn't. I had dual sun visors, he didn't. I had a light in my glove compartment, he didn't. ON and on. I wonder if seats will be optional in '07

Too extensive to list.

Days in shop so far 71 and counting as they still have it.

34K miles.

After spending a month in the shop and having it back only 2 weeks, it's back in the shop. Ford Customer service refused to send me a DSB Package. Told me the info is in the back of manual. Well truck is in shop and I don't have the info can you give it to me? No, it's in the manual.

Here's the CONCEPT
truck which is what is rumored to be the 07 model. Notice any similarities between the grill/lights on the concept truck and the new 05/06 models?

It is my opinion that the new grill/lights on the 05/06 models is being used for transition to the 07 Tonka concept. Again, like all rumors, we won't know for sure until they start hitting the lots.

Re: 2006 ford

Couldn't agree more. I think they goofed getting away from the 7.3. They should have fixed their issues with that engine. If I wanted a high winding fuel junky I'd put a small block chevy in it.

As pointed out on other forums on this site, this is probably a test mule.

However simple logic would show that if the 2007 is a total reworking of the Superduty, then what's a current body doing on a new chassis. This could possibly be a grill reworking for the 2006 model. IMHO, a Harley-Davidson type grill reworking for the 2006 would look decent.

Others contend it is a test mule for the 6.4L.

I'm sure more spy shots will be fortcoming. I guess we should hold our pants on.
