6.0 blowing black smoke

Have a 2003 6.0 with 197,000 miles.Just started to pour out a lot of black smoke on acceleration. Does smoke at idle but more of a white or gray color.Seems to have ok power. Misses a little at idle but not constantly.Coolant level is ok and engine starts good.Check engine light is not on.Any ideas as to what is wrong?
Thanks,
Dave

Well, I had a similiar problem and it was the bearing on the turbo going bad. It was caused due an oil line that goes to the turbo kinking and caused the bearing to go bad letting oil through causing a similiar smoke situation to what you have.

Good Luck
