This is going to be a pretty big poll, so please pay attention to the section that you answer in. In order to keep the results as valid as possible, please answer only if you hand calculate your mileage or you have verified the accuracy of your onboard mileage computer.
What we're after here is LIFETIME AVERAGE MILEAGE.
I am not accounting for engine modifications in this poll, there are just too many variables.
Please answer for your particular style of transmission, lift and tire size. If none of the choices apply to you, please pick whatever you feel is closest to your configuration.
If you feel that your truck falls outside the realm of what is the "norm", IE, it's a dump truck or a tow truck or you have a 10k lb trailer hooked up 24/7/365, then please don't participate.
I realize that there are other variables, but the poll is too damn big as it is, so I simplified it to this point.
Thanks for your participation, I hope that this helps myself and others to figure out what the normal range is on these trucks, and how much if any mileage improvement the manual gets over the auto.
Please note that the poll titles got changed when I submitted, the software apparantly doesn't know what a quote mark is and deleted the quote marks that indicated inches, as well as everything that came after the quote marks. The numbers are for tire sizes, the option that says 38 should be 38 inch and larger tires.
My 04 is an auto with stock tires/lift. I average 14 with city driving, 19-20 on the freeway with cruise locked at 75 mph.

Lifetime average fuel economy is what I'm after here.
When a poll gets that granular it gets so difficult to vote in that people either don't bother or vote in the wrong area. 8 options is already bordering on too many; I considered doing seperate polls for manual and auto transmissions but it's a little late for that now.
I think lifetime average will be pretty tough to get accuratly form most folks that don't track it that close. Of course any MPG poll is going to be very subjective and have a pretty large margin of error.
I see there are already some 20+ MPG votes. Lifetime average of over 20 MPG with a 6.0? If there is any non-HWY driving at all, even all HWY at anyting over 50 MPH, I don't think so.

I would also guess that there may be a difference between the little F250's and mine

10-4 on that, maybe with cruise control set at 54 mph, in Florida and on the highway, maybe
I wondered about 4x4 in the equation.

Evan:
The poll idea is a good one. I suggest one important piece of information be added, the rear end ratio. I would expect that the 4.10 rear end would get somewhat lower mileage than the 3.73.
My list of everything that I coulda shoulda woulda added to the poll was huge. Consider that for every item you add to the list, it increases the number of choices exponentially within the poll. Consider these possible polls - Auto Trans no lift, auto trans with lift. There's two choices. Add the limited tire size options that I put in and you're up to 4 choices. Now add 4.10 gears or 3.73 gears to each option, that's 8 choices. If you add aftermarket gear selections or those available on F-450s and F-550s there's a few more choices (not going into consideration in this example). Now add SRW or DRW and you add at least four more, and that's only if you leave out the options with 35" or larger tires since not many DRW people run tires that big, so call it a total of 12 choices. Add those same choices for manual trans trucks and you have 24 different truck "types" that people have to choose from (and I have to create a poll for).
I was going to create a bunch of different polls, one for auto trucks with mods, one for stock auto trucks, one for stock manual trucks, etc, but I didn't want to flood the forum with a ton of posts. In the end I created this fairly generic poll that has it's problems, but it is better than nothing, agreed? Maybe if this poll gets a ton of replies then I will create some new polls that will drill down alot better and get more solid information. In the end I think the biggest flaw in any poll, regardless of how detailed the options are, is the human factor. I'd bet many people are putting guestimate or ballpark numbers in for their response. I know it is possible, but to achieve it, you have to drive mostly highway and drive a complete *****. Before I modded my truck, I experimented with driving methods; if you ease into acceleration (shift points well under 2K), and you drive a lot of highway and do about 60 on the highway, you'll get about 20mpg. But that defeats the entire purpose of owning a truck like this. The whole idea is gobs of power used to pull heavy weight. In my case, gobs of power to have close to sports-car-like performance. Yeah, my vote was in the 12-13mpg group.....(and that's including the effect of my 20mpg experiments!)

13000 miles since putting on the road on 1/1/05. Average milage is 16.68 (hand calculated). Most of the milage is highway at between 60 and 70 mph. There is about 200 miles towing a 7500# trailer.
I just figured mine out. I have recorded every gallon I have used. I have averaged a little over 16 MPG for the last 23,000 miles. I suppose that's about 50/50 city highway. I usually set the cruise at 80 on the highway, and do hot rod some around town. My highest was about 22.5 at 63 MPH (1800 RPM) and the lowest was a long trip at 95 MPH. Two tanks full. 13.7 MPG. All these figures are assuming that the odometer is near correct. I do use Stanadyne Performance Formula in every tank full. Considering the size and weight of the vehicle, I am satisfied with my mileage.

I drive pretty normal usually shifting a little over 2k RPM while occasionally getting into it. Im averaging about 17.5 mpg lifetime and on the highway @ 70 mph I get 19-20 mpg. If i drove normal and did all highway i could get around 20 mpg lifetime. Its the town driving that brings me down.
