6.0 Hard Start--Starts and dies right away

First off, I have done nothing on this yet. I was hoping to get an idea or two from you folks. This problem is not constant. There are times that I go a week or two without it happening. Here is the issue:

I turn the key, let the truck do its normal pre-starts, start the truck, it dies. It sounds like it makes it through about 6-8 cylinders before it dies. If I try to start it right away without turning the key back to "off", it does the same thing. Most times, if I turn the key to "off" and let it sit for a few seconds, it will usually start right up. I have been given 10 different suggestions, so I would like to see what you all think. Thanks for the help

I've been doing some reading on here, and it sounds like I need to check that out, along with the...ICP? I hear they work together. I also read a couple things that coincide with some of the stuff my truck does like try to creep when I'm stopped. I didn't realize that could be an indication of a problem.

Mine was doing some similar stuff...wouldn't start when hot or rough starts, surging, low power, etc. A few dead ends later and it ended up being the ICP valve.

Well it sounds like I need to check the FICM and ICP this weekend.
