6.0L Power Stroke Engine and Drivetrain Discussion of the 6.0L Power Stroke diesel engine and drivetrain in the 2003-Up Super-Duties and Excursions. No gas engine discussion allowed except on transmissions and drivetrain that pertain to all models. Please confine discussion of topics in this forum to those items that are specific to the 6.0L Power Stroke engine.

Many, if not most, of the FICM problems are related to poor electrical system maintenance (bad batteries or alternator).

Grampy Jim has been a member here since 04 and has over 5K posts. Unlike about half of your 183 posts, most of his have been made freely providing advice on issues pertaining to these trucks. Unless I miss my guess, neither he nor any of the other techs on here have been paid for one piece of the advice they give but have probably saved owners thousands of dollars and countless headaches.

Just because you have had poor luck with your particular truck and your particular dealer is no reason to paint the techs on this site with such a broad brush.

Frankly, I would not blame the whole lot of them if they left the site for good after reading comments like yours.

Actually the MOST recent flash is easier on the FICM than the one it replaced. As I understand it, the one it replaced was from International and it was hard on FICM's - especially when system voltages dropped and it had to work harder.
