6.0l Banks Monster Exhaust

Hello, I am new here so please forgive me if this has been posted already. I recently bought a 2005 Excursion with the 6.0l diesel and I am loving it! I want to add the banks monster exhaust to it, and I was wondering if anybody has had previously/or are currently using this system in your diesels. Any pro/cons? Power, noise, mpg? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

Re: 6.0l Banks Monster Exhaust

Dont just buy the brand if thats what you are doing.
What do you want out of it?
Do you want it to be any louder?
Close to stock?
Turbo back or CAT back?
Do you really need T-304 SS?

Personally I run MBRP on my truck and love it. Its much cheaper and the same/ probably better quality.

Also theres Silverline Hog, Magnaflow, etc. that are also all great quality and much cheaper than Banks

Re: 6.0l Banks Monster Exhaust

Floridian,

Their products are well made and designed, but they are hihger than lots of other options out there. What the guys are trying to say is do a "LOT" of reading here thru the search system and then you'll be totally educated, probably more than you'll want to be on any available exhaust systems for the EX.

If you decide on the MBRP call us and we will be glad to help you with any questions etc.

Re: 6.0l Banks Monster Exhaust

Hi Floridian,

Welcome to TDS. I just wanted to let you know that there is a another forum dedicated to aftermarket & upgrades to the 6.0l.

As for adding the Banks exhaust (or any, for that matter), I wouldn't do it while I had warranty. You risk your warranty for any aftermarket modification. It is a crap shoot depending on your service writer, service manager, Ford regional rep, etc. This is just friendly advice -- I don't mean to open the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act can of worms. You will find as many opinions here on that subject as you will find users.

Re: 6.0l Banks Monster Exhaust

To answer your question-
The Banks Monster option is the quietest I found. Very easy to install as well.
If its louder than stock I couldn't tell and that's what I was looking for.
There are many exhaust options to choose from.

Thanks for all the advice and info. I will be hunting around a little more before I purchase any mods.
