6.0L chatter-like sound around 1700-1900rpm
'06 F-250, 77k miles, stock apart from coolant filter added.
On my way to a buddy's house tonight, I noticed there was a chatter-like sound when engine RPM was between 1700-1900ish RPM. Rev higher, it goes away - rev lower, it goes away.
Searching around TDS found me lots of hits on the 7.3 air-in-fuel "cackle" - I don't know if this applies to the 6.0 though.
While this is going, she also runs a bit rough. It's barely noticeable, took me a bit of trial to feel it.
She was recently in the shop for the leaking EGR cooler debacle. Apparently the last dealer didn't fix it right. Heh.
Not sure if it's related, but this morning, she died as I was rolling up to an intersection... just shut down. Power off, back on, cranked+started and all seemed good.
