6.0L flipped me off... figuratively

Oh yes. That's right. The truck and I had words. 2004 Ford f-350 super duty lariat.

So, customer brought in this truck and it was flat out billowing white/grey smoke, like it had an injector that was just dumping fuel. Then... it locked up. Can't get it to crank or nothing. Manually turn it over and it will crank for a second and then lock up like it's got a cyl filled.

Anyway, ran diagnostic and this is what it coded with:

P006A - Manifold Absolute Pressure - Mass or Volume Air flow Correlation
P0263 - Cylinder 1 Contribution Or Balance Malfunction
P0266 - Cylinder 2 Contribution or Balance Malfunction
P0401 - Insufficient Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Detected
P132B - Turbocharger/ Supercharger Boost Control A Performance

Priced the injectors and they're like 350 bucks my COST. What are we looking at here? Am I going to have to swap this guy out on 2 injectors to get him going or is there something else going on here that is causing these injectors to act up?

Did you just pull codes and then post here, or did you try and diag something on the truck ?

Here's what I've done:

I checked power coming to the injectors and I believe that one is consistantly dumping fuel (cyl 1). Cyl 2 though I don't know why is throwing that code.

I know these 6.0L's tend to have a problem with their EGR's sticking, and I'm wondering if 3 of the 5 codes are unrelated to the injectors sticking and are another problem that he just didn't think was that big of a deal when he brought it to me (I'm considering buying this truck from him, but don't want to inherit a major problem, obviously. I have a 7.3 which I prefer, but this truck is newer with MUCH lower miles).

So, like I was wondering, I'd like to get him up and running, and clear the codes and see if they re-occur or if they're ghost codes aggrevated by the cylinder issues. But, the brick isn't telling me much, and I'm still getting used to the pegisys. It's not listing any suggested tests or procedures for troubleshooting on this particular problem.

My first instinct is to tell him that he needs 2 injectors, and MAYBE and EGR valve if the codes reoccur. But, given I haven't worked on a whole lot of these 6.0L engines as most are under warranty still (this one is only out of warranty by 4 months), I don't want to recommend such a costly repair to him if it's not going to fix his problem, or make it appear like I'm trying to get him to come down on his price.

This isn't one of those things where you only pay 20-50 bucks an injector, or get refurbed ones. They're really expensive, and I just want to make sure by bouncing it off a few more 6.0 experts before I break the news to him.
