Re: 6 liter and ULSD - interesting observation

Truck appears to have dropped about 1/2mpg, down from 13.5-14 to 12.9/13.4, but winter fuel has always lost milage. Been tracking ULSD since October 06, still running DS with each fill up. Truck appears to be running quieter, with no loss of performance.

Unless you fill your tank all the way to the top of the filler spout and stand there for 10 minutes clickin off/on while the foam settles, you will never get an accurate reading. My dad has that mpg gauge in his truck and its not very accurate. My truck is an XLT and doesnt.

[/ QUOTE ]

I've got it down to about 3 minutes. In winter time the foam settles a little quicker then in the summer time.

I've noticed a slight drop. My fuel average before ULSD was a solid 16 mpg. Now it around 15.8 mpg.

Re: 6 liter and ULSD - interesting observation

Mine is up as well. Normally on winter fuel I would get 15.5- 16.5. On ULS I am averaging 19.3 on the highway. JS.

Re: 6 liter and ULSD - interesting observation

since the ULSD switch here I've seen my highway mileage go from 18 to 15 and around town from 15 to 11-12.5. Now my truck stays parked unless I have to haul something around or my other truck is down.

Re: 6 liter and ULSD - interesting observation

I too was always seeing strong 16's, and since the change to the new fuel, i,e,(winter blend) I continue to see a drop of 1-1.25 mpg, hand calculated, and I am also taking into consideration that my mpg alway drop in the winter, so I'm hopeful that I might actually see the increase like several others have mentioned, when things warm up around here. Re: 6 liter and ULSD - interesting observation

I've lost mileage too. I'm waiting for spring for the switchover to summer fuel to see if my mileage increases.
