Alternate fuel question??

I used to run a 70/30 mix of used filtered transmission fluid in my 7.3. does anyone know if it is safe to run this in the 6.0's. Will it mess up the ever so sensitive fuel injectors? Also opinions on methanol injection would be accepted...Thanks

wow 70 30 you have a tranny shop?
thats alot of fluid. i have never seen anyone run that much.what was your mpg like?
i myself would not go that high in a 6.0 the EGR i think would be a problem.

tranny fluid will strip away lubrication. i would be concerned with the injectors experincing excelerated wear... obviously this would void the warranty from ford if you have it still and make the fuel filters and the tank have a red pigment causing them to think you are running red dye fuel... which would get you fined. possibly a larger fine since the atf is not taxed and not approved for otr fuel. other than those issues i would expect to change the fuel filters at 5k intervals for the first couple of oil changes to see what they look like. i personally wouldnt run atf thru my truck. as far as methanol i would use no more that 50% something closer to 70/30 70% water.

Sorry I didn't specify, 70 diesel 30 ATF. The mileage stayed the same but it did smoke a little more under heavy load. When I got rid of the truck it had 280,000 miles and running strong. Ahurley, I have a Rhino Linings dealership so the local tranny shops are more than willing to fill a drum up for me.

Lam..didn't see atf, but other info. here Lubricity Additive Study Results - Diesel Place Don't know about methanol inj. on 6L (if that's what your asking) But, I think the alcohol content would be harmful. JMO!
