Annoying metal rubbing sound and clunk when stopped
My wife noticed a metallic scraping sound the other day while I was driving the truck and it's bothering me because I can't pinpoint what it's from. If you're sitting in the driver seat the sound seems to come from the right front quarter of the truck. It sounds like you're filing something with a dull file. It is most noticeable when you let the truck coast at speed. It stops once the rpms drop below 900 or so and is pretty much unnoticeable when you load the engine up to accelerate. I don't know if it might be the turbo bearings or a wheel bearing. The noise continues when the brakes are applied so I don't think it's a warped rotor. The truck runs just fine and still boosts up to ~25# per the factory gauge.
The clunk occurs about 5 seconds after the truck comes to a stop at a stoplight. It's not real loud but you can feel it. I'm not letting off the brakes or letting the truck creep forward. Could it be the tranny staying engaged just a little too long? Maybe it needs a flush? The truck has 82K on it.
Thanks for any light you guys can shine on the situation.
Edit: Forgot to say that the scrape isn't constant it pulses.
