Battery light question.

When I start my truck in the morning or anytime it has been off for an extended period the battery light will stay on. As I drive the truck within a couple of miles it will flicker then go off. Any thoughts? I heard from a buddy that if the belts are worn out or loose that will happen but I dont know for sure. Thanks for the input.

Doesn't help at all but my E 350 does the same thing. Everything checks out fine. The previous owner said it had done it since new.

Yeah the guy I bought mine from said there is 2 new batteries and a refurb'ed alternator. So I dont know. Its never not started yet hahaha.
