Blow Head gasket, replaced egr and oil cooler

Took my truck in to the dealer cause it got hot a couple times and didn't think it was running as good as it used to. Anyway, never got a call back so I called and they said they replaced the egr cooler and oil cooler, and that didnt fix the problem, and it had to be head gaskets. I told them I wanted arp studs and they said that would affect warrranty down road if I ever have problems again. Is that true?

My dealer is pretty mod friendly and they installed ARP's for me the "first" time my gaskets went. About 8 weeks back I took it in because coolant was blowing all over again and the gaskets went again, WITH THE ARP'S IN! This time they had to replace the block because it took out three cylinders when the gaskets went. Apparently the studs are not the cure all for this badly designed 6.0L.

The point of my post was not to bad mouth my POS motor but to tell you that even though my dealer (and mechanics) are mod friendly the inspectors that come out from Ford are getting more and more strict according to my mechanics. They wanted to hurry and drop the body back on on mine because they thought if the inspector (that was coming to look at a 6.4 that was on it's third motor) saw my exposed air pumps, tanks, horns, and exhaust that he might want to dig deeper to try and stop my warranty work.

With all the claims on these badly designed 6.0's and 6.4's (oops there I go again!), the inspectors are coming out more often because Ford is putting out a lot of $$ in warranties so they are getting less mod friendly. My warranty bill for the first gasket job was well over $6K, this time with the "remanufactured block" was over $8K and would have cost me over $12K out of pocket! Who has that kind of money every 30K miles? Lucky for me that I got it in there one week before my warranty expired. Lucky? Maybe but not lucky that I own this poorly designed 6.0L. oops

Good luck with yours.

Thanks for the input. I'm definately goin to talk to the tech. They haven't done anything to heads yet cause they said they have to get it approved because apparently I need new heads also,
