broken oil pump ???

my truck ( under 14000 miles ) made a POOOF sound and then a loud squeel sound ( kind of like a cat in the fan ) and then just dead.
the mec. said it was a hairline crack in the main oil pump.
has anybody else had this happen or heard of it?

[/ QUOTE ]I have never seen The Gear rotors crack unless debris get into the cavity. The front cover is probably shot too.It could have been a bad gearotor match but it is hard to say. There is definately more to the story here.I have seen alot of different failures On the VT 365 in the Internationals but this is a new one.
