Re: Can you Clean Injector Spool Valves? UPDATE

Google only finds me two companies calling themselves "Lubrication Specialists" - one is a little California company that makes speciality oils like for guns and doesn't seem to do anything automotive...and the other is a really large Amsoil dealer. They list all sorts of miracle products, as you can imagine, including an engine flush treatment, but I don't see anything that says it's just for the Powerstroke.

Re: Can you Clean Injector Spool Valves? UPDATE

I went and started it this morning temperature was 45 degrees. It actually was worse, B4 it would start and idle pretty good but miss and have no power when pedal is depressed. Now it starts and seems like it's hitting on 4 or so. It still runs fantastic warmed up. I reckon it's time for injectors or keep her plugged in. I think what is going on now is the spool valves are empty and it takes a second for them to builds up pressure.
I had to make the breakfast run this morning in the ole V10.

Re: Can you Clean Injector Spool Valves? UPDATE

At this point in time, it would appear that your concern is not stiction.. There is a diagnostic strategy that is accepted for thise type of concern that will reduce the down time.

Since stiction is not the issue, injector replacement is probably the next step. The diagnostic strategy I mentioned should (but not always) find all of the affected injectors in one "go".

Be aware that any time an injector is replaced for any reason, it is essential that base fuel pressure be checked under high fuel demand conditions....

Re: Can you Clean Injector Spool Valves? UPDATE

LS 3000 from lubrication Specialties web page

I'm normally not big on additives or snake oil fixes. I haven't yet proved or disproved this product. I do feel it's worth a shot. I tried it once and have two more bottle waiting on one that's acting up.

Re: Can you Clean Injector Spool Valves? UPDATE

By what theses guy's are saying on the web site it's a cleaner, put it in the oil and run for 100 miles. I wonder how a quart of Marvel Mystery Oil in the crank case would do and run it for 100 miles?

Re: Can you Clean Injector Spool Valves? UPDATE

You don't run it for 100 miles, you run until you change the oil. The tests were ran after 100 miles.
