Cant build over 20 psi!

I've got a 2006 that just recently wont build past 17-18 psi of boost. Even if I stomp on it, it goes right to 17-18 sometimes 19 psi, and thats it...It seems to have less power from a stop also....Actually started last week, I havent had a tuner on it since June...And its got studs... Any idea what may be causing this?

Also....Not smoking at all or anything....If I try and powerbrake, I can only build around 5 psi of boost, and it wont even spin the tires.

My 2003 is basically doin the same thing. I pulled my EGR and cleaned it up. But i think the vanes are stuck on my turbo and i gotta get it pulled and cleaned up, or im buyin a new turbo for it now.... look into EGR then go towards havin ur turbo pulled and cleaned up if it can be...

The EGR is easy and cheap to clean up yourself. Turbo is more expensive and difficult...

Checked the EGR, its not that, I actually cleaned it this spring....How much $ is to pull the turbo and clean it? Is it covered under warranty?

Turbo exhaust inlet

I had the same problem. Check for a leak in the flex bellows joints on the turbo exhaust inlet. Look at your exhaust manifold and follow the pipes you will see 3 flex joints two on the pasenger side and one on the driver side.
check them with the engine running be careful not to touch the pipes as they will be hot. Perform this with a cold engine. look around the flex joints and listen for leaks confim them using a piece of paper if it flutters there is your leak.
If one is leaking replace all three as the anneal (harden)when they get hot.

Mine did the same thing. I really noticed it when I pulled the camper though. It would downshift and try to biuld power, but it lost speed and would shutter. If I let off of it, it would start to build speed until I really stomped on it and it would do the same thing. After another week it started to idle rough and then barely at all. Cause....number 8 injector. After that, it ran like new again.
