CarQuest Oil housing

Hey guys, I screwed up and broke my stock oil filter housing, I was buying wix filters at the time from carquest and went ahead and got a carquest oil filter housing has anyone messed with these? The other day I bought a motorcraft filter because they were out of wix and it had no place for the o ring, I dont know if I should go out and buy a new housing from ford or not and cannot remember what the stock housing looked like. I am very confused at this point and any help would be appreciated.

When you say "housing" I assume your talking about the plastic cap that goes over the filter on top of the metal housing (under the hood). If so? pull your HFCM (fuel) filter under the truck. (behind driver's side frame rail under driver's door) They both use the same plastic cap. Take a look at the parts and see if they're the same.
