Is the alt charging? If so then test the batteries. My batteries died jump started it and ended up having to buy new batteries the next day the batt light alt was shot. So after 2batts and a alt I was good. Just pray to god you don't have the dual alt setup... I hear that is a pricey repair

Put a volt meter on the battery and see what battery voltage is with the engine running. if it is in the 13-14v range then you are ok. if you are seeing 12v then the alt is not working. At that point turn off the truck and with the volt meter see if you have 12v to the large terminal on the alt. if you do then??? If you do not have power to the large lead on the alt then the fusible link that is in that line has gone on you and you will need to locate it and replace it. Likely something shorted to the large wire going to the alt and it took out the fusible link as well as the original alt. You have to figure out where that line goes. I am not sure on the Fords but on most trucks it goes from the alt to the battery cable connected to the starter. If you do replace it make sure you use the same size wire or larger (larger is better). Use the same size fusible link. good luck
