Check engine soon light again !

My check engine soon light came on last night for the 3rd time since truck was new . The other 2 times the tech just cleared the computor because there was not a code that was shown. Seems to run just fine but am wondering what are the most common causes or codes for this on the 6.0. On other trucks I have had in the past it was the result of something as simple as a sensor. Anybody have some wisdom ?
Thanks

I had an injector that was leaking, the dealer cured my check engine light.

Re: Check engine soon light again !

Mine has been into the dealer 5 times for this. First two times they also told me they couldn't find any codes. Last 3 times they have replaced parts, air inlet temp sensor, EBP(2x), EGR valve.

Got the call today, Ford is buying it back.

Re: Check engine soon light again !

Mine comes on about every 4,000 miles. Last time it was a "throttle positioning valve" this time who knows. In talking with a few fellow owners this is a common problem with the check engine light coming on for just about any problem from a loose fuel cap to near engine failure.

Re: Check engine soon light again !

I took off the new AFE stage 2 I installed a few weeks ago and the light has gone off so time will tell if that was it or not . I should know if it was within a few cold starts.

Re: Check engine soon light again !

One thing I noticed with mine was that after 4 restarts the light would go out. Only to come on again some random time later.
