Computer ReFlash

I'll be taking my 2006 F-350 36,500 miles, in for a Coolant Flush soon before I add a coolant filter.

I have seen post about having the dealer ReFlash the computer. Is this something that I should look into while I have it at the Dealer. Have they come up with any changes that would make it worth it to have it done.

I just had my 04 at the dealer a couple months ago for a tranny flush. I was not having any problems with the truck, but I requested they update it to the latest calibraition, mainly to get the Injector inductive heating and hopefully avoid any cold starting problems in the future. The paperwork indicated they went thru (8) updates. I have not noticed any driveabilty, starting or mileage changes in the truck in the last couple monthes, but it hasn,t gotten really cold yet either.
So I guess its your choice.

By the way, good choice on the coolant filter. Installed mine at 5K. Now at 145K with a clean coolant system.

I love the newest flash. It helps avoid cold start issues AND it is easier on FICM's than the previous few flash's. I highly recommend it.

My fuel mileage went from 10 to 11 mpg since I had the reflash done on my 2006 f250 with 31,000 miles. I was experiencing turbo lag too and they told me that it might help that, I think it did, or I just might be expecting more power out of that thing then she is willing to give stock. I paid 85.00 for mine and I think it was worth it.
