Coolant filter

I ordered a coolant filter from Dieselsite. Easy install and reasonably priced. Also order extra filters, 1 every 3 months (unless plugged) for first 9 months then 1 a year afterwords.

As far as I can tell all the kits are fairly similar. Some include things that are options at other sites, so pay attention to what you are ordering.

No matter which one you get, make sure you get the ball valves that shut off the flow so you can change the filter without losing excess coolant.

Mike

Dieselsite for me too. Very easy/clean install, as mentioned, don't forget the valves. You might want to order some extra filters too. The first 2 filters are changed fairly quickly.

I got mine from DIESELSITE but there are several others and as MikeL46 pointed out, aside from things like ball valves, they are all basically the same. Any of them will do. Just pick the one that you like best or best suits your budget.. And yes, get the ball valves. They are really nice to have when it comes time to change the filter...

I have the Dfuser kit and it is very nice as well. However, I was going to originally order Dieselsites kit but called them last Friday and found out that they are backordered for 2-3 weeks. So take that into consideration if you are planning on purchasing one soon. Either kit is good and the Dfuser comes with everything you need in one package: Ball valves and 3 baldwin filters.

DIESELSITE here! Great looking and functioning product! Value-Added, you can call and get great service. Had minor issue, resolved in one phone call. Not a commercial, good people.

paintingman, I see you used a four line filter base. Where do all your lines go ? Most setups I've seen only use 2 lines. Thanks for the pics. Looks like a job i want to do also.

the white one is a racor filter he got off eBay. The Housing is full flow with small passages that bleed of small amounts of coolant at a time and send it out the other side. so the heater hose go's in one side and out the other and back thru the heater core. Mine is the NAPA and Amsoil fiters on the same bracket
