Darn Ford. They dun fixed my oil leak!
I have had a drip or two after every trip with the truck for some time. I have held off getting it fixed as I was content to live with it. But alas, after my last trip from the coast to 8k ft and back I noticed an increase in oil drips in exponential form.
It turned out to be a crank seal and a low oil pressure regulator. The dealer fixed it and so far so good. The question I have for the techs is should they have changed the oil? Is the dye safe to run for the full 5k miles or should this have been changed? I would have asked before I left but I was in a bit of a hurry. Just wondering if you folks know off the top of your heads.

The dye will not affect the oil properties. Thats also what they are delivered with new.
