diesel problems

Am i the only one that owns a 2005 diesel f350 that has had continues problems. I stick with just the engine, in the middle of wy in the middle of the night my truck decided to get nice and hot...limped it to dealer and had an egr coolant bad which caused the engine to get so hot the y pipe was cracked. Okay on the road again.....back to ny to have the truck get hot, no antifreeze smoking no power....dealer tells me my cap is bad and my two injecotors are bad...two weeks later every injector was changed....on the road again....and back off weeks later to have my truck smoking like a house on fire, no heat freezing my a55 off i get it to the dealer to have them tell me the egr coolant is bad and now we are changing the oil coolant to. I ask them to pull the engine apart so to check for more engine damage since it had gotten so hot. dealer couldnt get okay from ford....back once again on the road for a month only to bring it back in because we are whistling getting slightly hot, smoking every so often and power is bad, and chugging. NOw my truck is sitting at dealer with suspected head gasket issues cause we are not pressure testing right.....we wont know offically since we cant pull it apart till next week......urggggggg...AM I THE ONLY ONE OUT THERE? What is causing these EGR coolants to go bad? HELP? thanks donna

Re: diesel problems

Sorry to hear about your problems, it sounds like you may have a case for a buy back or lemon law.

Re: diesel problems

I'm sure it is a real pain to go through the process. If you are able to wait for your truck and see if they get it right finally it may be worth it in the end.

Good Luck,
Rick

Re: diesel problems

Had an "03" that went south after 13,600 miles, injectors, wire harness(s), EGRs, EBP, FICM, etc. Smoked, rode like an untuned POS, began a freindship with the tow services, weekly. Road side Assistance called me thats how many tow trips I had with that truck.
Contacted a lawyer, had a Lemon Case, instructed me that it could take up to one year for a settlement/ FMC Customer Service offered Arbitration, again no real time table/ Dealer and FMC representative got authorization to offer a buyback. Lawyer reviewed offer:
1. order new 2004 truck identical to 2003
2. pay only the differance between sticker price (1400.00)
3. loaner provided the entire time (F150 Crew 2004)
his advice jump on it. Ordered new truck March 04, recieved new truck June 04. Made only one change, color, differant color just in case.
2004 F350 XLT/Sport 4x4/ Crew Cab/ Dually True Blue, minimal issues but has never let me down, runs great, and the more it breaks in the better it runs.
Pursue the Sales Manager at your Dealership, let them know you have contacted a lawyer, its can be like a laxative of sorts. Customer Service is reading and acting from a script, the dealers FMC Representative is the person to get the attention of. Any rate these are my experinces, had the Dealer tried to blow me off it would have been ugly, however they treated me like a valued customer. This is the fifth Ford Truck I have owned, all from the same dealer, John Kennedy Ford, Phoenixville Pa.
