drive marker?

OK I'm talking about the little red marker on the D on the dash when in drive . I know not everyone's lines up perfect but has anyone's gone from not lining up to lining up . Mine did the other day. What gives?

Cable slack or just movement may have allowed it to fall correctly. I recently took apart my dash cluster to notice the same result as you.
