Could someone please wxplain to me what happens when the egr cooler is going bad. My 04 has loss of power. If I put the throttle to the floor it revs but doesn't get up and go. When it shifts into overdrive it seems sluggish and kind of bucks back and forth like a gasoline with no power. Computer shows 2 egr codes but I put a new one in and it did nothing. Any help is appreciated!!
you most likely have the dreaded stuck turbo vanes issue, probably need to take that apart to clean it up also the restrictive oil drain tube can be replaced to a upgraded one from Ford part #PN 6C3Z-9T515-A
If you can find a turbo from a 2007 that would be perfect.
Also a new EGR cooler part # PN 4C3Z-9P456-AF

The egr valve should be pretty easy w/ the right tool, might as well get the tool you will need it often.
